Activity Overview
This case-based activity provides community hepatologists and gastroenterologists expert analyses of challenging HCV cases that are encountered in daily practice. This activity allows the participants to hear multiple hepatology experts’ management approaches to specific, difficult cases involving patients with HCV. Discussion includes treatment options and treatment guidance pertaining to relevant, current, clinical cases.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians and other health care professionals involved in the care of patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should able to:
  • Identify patient- and virus-specific factors that predict response to therapy
  • Formulate a management strategy for patients with advanced fibrosis
  • Identify patients who may benefit from extended therapy
  • Describe the strengths and limitations of current data on treatment decisions for patients with low or high viral load
